Digital Urban Solutions in Times of the Covid-19 Pandemic
The Online Event Series “Digital Urban Solutions in Times of the Covid-19 Pandemic” of the International Smart Cities Network (ISCN) starts on June 18.
The COVID-19 pandemic poses similar challenges for cities around the world. A rapid response to combat the effects of the crisis is currently just as important as the task of drawing long-term conclusions from the crisis and finding sustainable solutions to increase urban resilience.
The series of events addresses the desire for international exchange and networked problem solving against the background of current and future urban challenges that arise or become particularly apparent as a result of the pandemic.
In this context, digital approaches to overcoming the crisis are becoming increasingly important. The benefits of digital solutions are not only becoming visible in the area of responsibility of cities and municipalities, but are also experiencing growing acceptance among citizens. Digital solutions offer numerous opportunities for location-independent exchange and Internet-supported urban development and administration as well as the further development and provision of public services. The online Events are intended to help make experiences and results visible to interested communities and thus enable continued learning from each other.
