Documentation of the international, digital ideas competition #SolutionsForCities 2020 is now online

Cities around the world are facing similar challenges. What can we learn from the Covid-19 pandemic? How can we sustainably transfer creative solutions in a long-term perspective? To tackle these questions, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (BMI) initiated the international, digital ideas competition #SolutionsForCities at the end of last year.
In December 2020, the six winning teams of the Ideas Competition were announced. The documentation of the competition as well as information on the process, the criteria applied and the winning teams can now be found on our website: solutionsforcities.de
In a further step, the International Smart Cities Network (ISCN) will support the implementation process of the “Best Digital Solution for Vibrant Urban & Local Centres”. To tackle the urban challenge of strengthening local markets, the Institute for Planning and Development Management (IMEPLAN) of the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara, Mexico, will adapt and further develop the Online Market Solution “KSmart Market” of the Kampala Capital City Authority, Uganda, to the local needs in Guadalajara.
