Exchange of International and German Cities
Under the theme ” Mutual Learning”, experts from the German Smart Cities model projects and international Smart City actors gathered at the side event “Smart City Dialogue” during the 13th Federal Congress on National Urban Development Policy in September 2019 in Stuttgart.
With the Smart Cities model projects, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community promotes for the first time in 2019 a strategic approach towards the new opportunities and challenges for urban development through digitization.
The future arena “Smart Cities made in Germany”, also organised by the division SW III 2 Smart Cities, therefore dealt in detail with the questions of where German municipalities stand on the road to the Smart City and in which areas digitisation can make a contribution to sustainable urban development.
