New podcast episode on digital citizen participation in Hamburg

A new “Smart City Dialogue” podcast episode on the topic of digital citizen participation is online. Since the last two episodes examined the topic from the perspective of Mexican, Indian and Peruvian municipalities, it is now the turn of a German municipality: Hamburg.

Our interview partner Claudius Lieven from the Public Authority for Urban Development and Housing is project manager of the digital participation system DIPAS. In the podcast, he talks about how Hamburg succeeds in using digital formats to involve a broader public in current urban development processes. Especially in times of the COVID-19 pandemic, when regular face-to-face meetings for citizen participation cannot take place, the benefit of digitalisation for a citizen-centered city that is oriented towards the common good becomes apparent.

In the upcoming webinar of the International Smart Cities Network on 25 June 2020, Claudius Lieven will give further insights into digital citizen participation during the COVID-19 crisis. But first of all, enjoy the podcast!
