New podcast episodes on digital citizen participation in Mexico, India and Peru

The first two “Smart City Dialogue” podcast episodes are now online. In it, the International Smart Cities Network Secretariat talks to three Smart City Experts from India, Mexico and Peru. In both episodes we learn from our interview partners about the role of citizen participation in urban development and how the digital transformation in cities influences participation processes. Our interview partners are:

  • Gabriela Canales, Director of Development Management at the Metropolitan Planning and Management Institute of the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara (IMEPLAN), Mexico
  • Ashit Kumar Rajhans, Technology Officer with Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited, India
  • Marcos Antonio Gasco Arrobas, Mayor of the provincial municipality of Chiclayo, Peru

The three Smart City Experts present apps that have been developed together with the citizens of their city. The apps enable the civil society to take an active role in urban climate change adaptation. During the conversation, they also give insights in challenges they face with digital participation in their cities. But listen for yourself!
