Now Online: Documentation video of the international, digital ideas competition #SolutionsForCities 2020

Worldwide, cities are facing similar challenges. What can we learn from the Covid-19 pandemic? How can we sustainably transfer creative solutions in a long-term perspective? To tackle these questions, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community (MoI) initiated the international, digital ideas competition #SolutionsForCities at the end of last year.

The now published video documentation shows the individual process steps of the ideas competition and how a variety of digital solutions could be found in a short period of time and be adapted according to local needs. The design thinking sprints reveal that innovative solutions are not characterised by reinventing the wheel, but that existing solutions can be reinterpreted, combined and adapted according to the needs of the target group.

Together, we have managed to learn from the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic and to explore new experimental ways of cooperative and innovative problem solving. And we will continue to do so in the future, in the spirit of sustainable and integrated urban development oriented towards the common good. But take a look for yourself. Have fun watching!
