Peer Learning Partnerships

Kick-Off-Meeting “Peer-Learning-Partnerships”

The six peer-learning-partnerships have been nominated and will enter into an intensive exchange of experiences. They will generate new knowledge and know-how as well as expand and consolidate their networking activities in the course of the project activities. Ideally, they will develop joint cooperation projects. The partnerships will be accompanied by the project team (adelphi and the German Institute of Urban Affairs).

This is the first virtual kick-off meeting. There, the participating cities will have the opportunity to learn more about the project and the peer-learning-process as such. They will get to know their partner municipalities and other participants and lay together the foundation for their future collaboration and the first on-site working meetings planned for the summer as well as for the second half of the year.

Further meetings in 2022 are planned for June, July and September.

They will take place at the sites of the partner cities.

Networking Workshops Municipalities

Empowering Smart Cities: First networking workshop for municipalities in Leipzig (Germany)

Dates: 21st/22nd September, 2022

The focus of these two days is on Smart City Governance, we will also tackle the topics digital transformation, sustainable and integrated urban development. The first networking workshop is taking place on September 21st/22nd, 2022 in Leipzig (Germany). This workshop marks the beginning of a professional interchange, knowledge transfer and networking of European and German municipalities within the BBSR-funded project #connectedinEurope.

The participants of the workshop will discuss in two parallel working groups how European and German Cities can capitalize on smart city potentials for sustainable urban development – for internal processes and for external engagement. A pitch for collaboration will collect ideas for further projects.

On the second day Elina Wanne will present the Smart City approach of Espoo, Finland and finally Nadja Riedel from the Digital City Unit, City of Leipzig will talk about “Making the Smart City real and lessons learnt: Insights of the Smart City Lighthouse Projects in Leipzig”.
