ISCN Global Mixer: XPlanung - a data standard for interoperable urban planning processes

XPlanung is the data standard and data exchange format for IT procedures relating to spatial planning, state and regional planning, urban land use planning and landscape planning in Germany. It enables the transfer of planning data between different IT systems and therefore a more efficient processing of building applications. In this event, we will learn about the features of XPlanung in a live-demonstration.

Global Mixer XPlanung

XPlanung is an open, XML-based data exchange format based on Geography Markup Language Version 3 (GML 3.2.2), the extensible standard for spatial data developed by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and ISO TC211.  XPlanung is the mandatory standard for IT procedures used in the processing of planning and approval procedures.

The standard benefits municipalities, urban planers and citizens alike. The simplified integration of planning data into other specialist contexts can speed up planning procedures, which in turn can have a positive effect on the processing time for building applications.
In this episode, Ken Gericke from the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport will guide us through the features of XPlanung in a real-time demonstration.

The event is part of the ISCN Global Mixer, a series of events organized by the International Smart Cities Network. The presentations cover a wide range of topics related to international smart city approaches and provide exciting insights into urban digitalization worldwide - in just 30 minutes.
