Main content
The indicator set comprises 91 key figures relating to the three dimensions of sustainability - economic, environmental and social. It is based on internationally recognised standards of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Numerous cities around the world have already applied the procedure.
Participation in the U4SSC KPI project enables local authorities to carry out a structured assessment. The aim is to visualise strengths and potential, identify areas where action is needed and create a reliable basis for strategic decisions - for example in planning, communication with political bodies or when applying for funding. Exchange with other cities is also part of the programme.
The programme is implemented in several stages - from data collection to evaluation - and is supported by experts. Participation is possible regardless of the size or previous work of the municipality. Further information on the programme and the conditions of participation can be found in the linked project brochure.
