The digital transformation not only affects cities, but also rural areas. There is a particular demand for straightforward solutions to reach citizens and deliver digital services. In this ISCN Global Mixer, Philipp Wilimzig presented an open source app that has the potential to drive digitalization in rural areas.

In this episode of the ISCN Global Mixer, Gert Hilgers from Open and Agile Smart Cities (OASC) introduced us to the world of Minimal Interoperability Mechanisms (MIMs) and showed how cities and communities can use these tools to achieve interoperability of their smart city solutions.

This Online Advisory Programme (OAP) of the International Smart Cities Network (ISCN) was dedicated to perhaps the most common "interface" with which we all understand our cities and communities: Maps! We dived into the swarm-intelligent creation of new types of maps and data points through interactive citizen participation.
